Christmas

The Breukers had a great Christmas! The joy of a 2.5 year old is magical! Dakota was really into Christmas this year. When Dakota and his cousin, Corbin, sang happy Birthday to Jesus it just melted my heart!
I do have to say that the boys were very spoiled this year. Dakota could not stay focused on one toy for more than 5 minutes. He just kept moving from one toy to another! Dakota's favorite toys have to be his Geo Trax train system, his Mac truck with Lightning McQueen and his dance cam. (I think Bryan is loving those 3 toys too! I don't know who has been playing with them more!) Colten also got a few toys and some much needed clothes and PJs.
I just love this season! I love spending time with family and friends. There is just something so special about Christmas and New Years! The snow falling at this very moment makes it even more special and memorable.
We hope your holiday season is as special as ours! Happy Holidays!

Life at the Breuker's

Wow! The Breuker's have been busy! What a fabulous, fun fall we have been having.
We spent some time out at Gun Lake with the family during their Halloween weekend. It was a bit cold, but tons of fun! Kota had fun on his nature walk and enjoyed carving pumpkins with his daddy. At night he dressed in his Pooh costume and went trick or treating to all the campsites. He filled his orange bucket with tons of candy!
In October the four of us went to the Great Wolf Lodge. We had a great time! Dakota was not afraid to go down any of the slides (until he almost fell out of a tube while going down a really fast slide) No worries...Bryan caught him just in time! It was wonderful being in the 80 degree indoor water park while it was cold and rainy outside! We can't wait to go back!
We had a fun Halloween despite the cold! Kota was Pooh Bear and Colten was a bat! We have enough candy to last us a lifetime!!!
We are looking forward to the upcoming holidays and Kota can't wait for the snow to fly!!!

my boys

Wow! I am a mother of a 2 and 1/2 year old and 2 month old! My how the time flies when you have children!
Dakota is 2.5 and is a busy boy! He loves playing with cars and even more loves watching his daddy race cars. Race days are the only days that child sits! Kota cheers his daddy and Uncle Buzz on in the bleachers. He is their biggest fan! His next favorite thing is to get dirty! It never fails a pile of dirt could be 100 yards away and he would spot it. That one mud puddle....he jumps in it! I guess it is a boy thing!
Colten is 2 months already! He is so sweet! I never get anything done because I could cuddle him all day long! He is such a happy baby! He is smiling more and more each day and is beginning to grasp at things. The best thing is that at 2 months old he is sleeping through the night! He usually goes to bed around 9:00 and wakes up around 5 or 6 and then it is back to bed for a few more hours! I think he sleeps so good because he eats so good. He is 13 lbs 11 oz coming in at the 90th percentile mark! Same goes for his length!
I love my boys sooo much! God knew exactly what two to give me! I thank him everyday for my two precious gifts!

Terrible Two's

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! I have a two year old that thinks he runs this household! Please tell me I am not the only one with this problem! Dakota just does not want to listen and continues to act out. Also, tell me what is up with the constant whining!!! Thank goodness I love soooooo much!

A Different World

Wow! It has been a long time since I have posted! I guess that is what a new addition to the family will do to you! Colten Scott Breuker was born on July 9, 2009 at 9:18 in the morning via c-section. He weighed 8 lbs 5 oz and was 21 inches long. He is absolutely perfect! When he was born he looked exactly like Dakota, but now that he is almost 6 weeks old he is looking like himself! LOL!
We have been though a lot since Colten has been born. When he was a week old we ended back in the hospital with an infection that was in his fingers and toes. He spent 48 hours in the hospital and they ran antibiotics through him. They had to put the IV in his scalp! It was not a fun time for Bryan and I. You never want to see your children go through pain! The antibiotics seemed to help!
Dakota loves being a big brother! He definitely has his moments, but for the most part he is enjoying Colten! Dakota looks so big to us now! He talks and acts like a big boy! The other night he told his daddy, "Bryan Breuker you stop!" We laughed so hard! Dakota loves Summer. He has lots of fun playing at Aunt Kim and Uncle Jer's. He loves their monkey pool and slip N slide! We are really bummed that summer is coming to an end.
With summer coming to an end that also means I need to head back to work! This maternity leave has gone so fast. I think because we have been so busy! I actually think going back to work may slow our schedule down a bit.
My goal is to keep on this blog, keep up on my scrapbooking, and to enjoy my family ( no matter how busy I get!)

The Waiting Game

Only two more weeks! I am ready now! It is definitely time for baby #2 to make his appearance. It is way to hot and I can no longer handle sitting in my own sweat, watching my toes swell up like sausages! The worst thing is that our central air unit took a dump tonight. It is never ending around here!
I had a doctor appointment yesterday. The only good news he gave me was the head was definitely down. Of course he didn't check me....AAHHHHHH! He figures since we are already scheduled a c-section that it would just be a bonus if we went early.
I was hoping to get to at least the 4th of July because I have a cute red, white and blue shirt but I am changing my mind! I will keep you posted on any progress!

1 more month

I can not believe Baby Boy #2 will be here in 4 weeks! We are slowly getting ready. I have the nursery organized, the newborn clothes all washed, and the breast pump ready to go! I bought a Moby Wrap from the Sling Shack...I am sooooo excited to put my new baby boy in it. I found my double stroller and I am hoping to pick it up from Target this weekend.
I think a little bit of nesting set in this past week. I began to do some organizing and pitching away of unnecessary things. Time to clean house! I actually did that too! I dusted, vacuumed, scrubbed the main floor. All the bedding is washed too. Go me!
However, I am not prepared on the work end of the spectrum! I have sooooo much to do before I leave on maternity leave. It has been crazy trying to move a center!
As much as I am ready for Baby #2 to arrive I am actually going to miss being pregnant! I love being pregnant! I know I sometimes complain, but I am truly going to miss all those kicks and movements I feel in my belly! I think I will even miss my maternity clothes! LOL! I don't know what it is but there is just something so special and neat about being pregnant.

Memorial Weekend

What a great holiday weekend we had. This year we decided to go camping. It was lots of fun! We camped at Yogi Bear with the Smit and Weber families! It was nice to get away from home for a long weekend. The children had so much fun playing with each other. We played at the park, went swimming, and sat by the campfire! Dakota loved the Yogi dance party the best! He also got to ride in a go-cart with Bryan. They raced around the track with Jer and Jackson! We had great weather and even got some color! However, those mosquitoes we could have done without!!!
On Monday we took Dakota over to my parents to go fishing in their pond. He was so excited to use his new pole and net. He didn't catch any fish but did get a few frogs and tadpoles. We were also lucky enough to see two huge snapping turtles! Monday night we went for a cookout at the Fregos! The kids played on the swing set and had so much fun chasing each other around the yard. It was a great holiday weekend!

vacation

After a great vacation it is back to the real life! Dakota and I had a great trip to Branson. It took us 12 hours each way to get there, but we made it. We went with my parents to meet up with my brother, his wife and the girls! It was great seeing them again! Dakota had so much fun playing with his cousins. We did not have the nicest weather, but we stayed busy by going to a show and seeing the butterfly exhibit.
Dakota did very well during the long car ride.....for a 2 year old with no sit in him that is! LOL! We kept him bust with movies, toys, and food. I took the driving time to get caught up on my sleep! I know that there will be a lack of it coming in the very near future!
After my 30 week appointment today I found out that I actually only have 9 weeks left! Yikes! That is really not that much time and I have a lot of things to get done! We have scheduled a c-section for the second week in July. However, Bryan thinks this baby is going to come before then. Lets hope not!
We have also been enjoying all the great Tulip Time festivities around town. We watched the Dutch Dancers on Monday and Tuesday. Of course we could not pass up the junk food! All I need yet to satisfy all my cravings is a Carmel apple. I am thinking Kota and I might head downtown for the children's parade tomorrow. It is a toss up. Do I give up a nap or head down town?

Busy Times

The Breuker family has been very busy over the last few weeks. When we are not busy we are so tired we don't do anything!
We had a very nice Easter. We attended church and Bryan took part in the service. It was a more up beat service so we decided to keep Dakota with us instead of going to nursery. We made it about 15 minutes before I ended up walking out of church and bringing him to nursery. We went to my parents where Dakota received an Easter basket of goodies. What a spoiled little boy. We ate a Easter lunch at Bryan's mom's house. We had ham and all the fixings. It was yummy. Dakota and his cousin, Corbin loved their Easter egg hunt. I was Dakota's first hunt. He had so much fun! I think Bryan had just as much fun! LOL! He was running around trying to find the eggs before the boys. We spent the rest of Easter relaxing and enjoying time as a family.
This past weekend I spent the weekend in Ludington. I spent the weekend scrapbooking with friends. I got tons done. I am almost done with Kota's first year of life! Go me! I will have it done before baby #2. Bryan and Dakota spent the weekend hanging out at home! They had a BBQ with friends which I am sad I missed the first BBQ of the year.
And of course I need to cut this blog short because potty training is not going well and I have to change another poopy diaper! AAAHHH!

the breuker family

Not much has been going on with the Breuker family. We are slowly preparing for baby #2. Dakota is doing great in his new room, and I really don't mind when he calls for Mama at 4:00 in the morning! I love snuggling up with him! I am in the process of resetting up the nursery and washing all the newborn clothes. I forgot how small Dakota once was!
This past weekend was Bryan's 28th birthday! What an old man! The two of us went to Logan's for dinner. Buzz met us there too. We also got groceries. I know it was a very exciting birthday! I think we were in bed by 9:30. Yeah, I guess we are getting old!!
I am on the big kick of coupon clipping. I am kinda in the mood to save money and start budgeting. This is my new weekly goal! We will see how long that last!

I'm Back!

Wow! It has been a long time since my last post! I have decided that it is time to get back on the band wagon! We have been so busy over the past few months. I am now 24 weeks pregnant and we are thrilled to be having another boy! Dakota is going to love being a big brother! He is sooo cute because he always lifts up my shirt and kisses the baby. He says it is his baby! I am not sure if he actually knows what is coming, but at least for the moment he is excited.
This week we moved Dakota to his big boy room. I don't know if it was harder for him or me! Bryan took the first part of the night and I took the second. I am hoping tonight he can make it all alone in his twin bed. Now that he is in the new room I am trying to get the nursery reorganized and ready for the baby stage again. It is funny how much you forget about after 2 years.
We are so excited to also be getting our backyard redone! We are ripping everything out and replanting. To top it off Dakota is going to get a brand new swing set and sandbox! We know he will love it!
Dakota cracks us up lately! He loves cars and monster trucks! His favorite thing is MONSTER JAM! He does exactly what he saw at the monster truck show with his cars and monster trucks! His favorite monster truck is the "puppy" also known as monster mutt ( I think)! He is also really big into Mickey Mouse. We took him to see Mickey Live for his birthday and he loved it.
That is all that is really new with the Breuker family. My new goal is to do at least one post per week! Keep an eye out for future post!
