November

November has been an exciting and busy month for the Breuker's! I will start with our biggest news.....Dakota will be a big brother in July! Baby # 2 will be here in the middle of summer. We were a little shocked, but very excited. I am feeling okay. Some days are better than others. I am very tired. When Dakota takes a nap Mommy also takes a nap! My first doctor appointment is December 17th.
The Breuker family put up the Christmas tree around the 2nd week of November. I also began my Christmas shopping. Shopping on a budget is harder than I thought it would. I think Dakota is just going to have so much fun at Christmas this year. I can't wait!
The snow is a different situation for Dakota. He absolutely hates it!!!! He screams and cries as soon as the snow pants and boots come out. It is kinda okay with me because I do not want to go outside either. LOL!
I been working really hard on my scrapbooks. I really need to get caught up now that there is another one on the way! Bryan has been very busy working on his cars! He is going to be racing at the Ford Field House in January at the Monster Jam! We can't wait.... we know Dakota is going to love watching the monster trucks!
We are really looking forward to December! We can't wait to make more memories with our family and friends!

Halloween Fun

What a fun October the Breuker family had! I can't believe it is already over! That means the holidays are right around the corner! Hard to believe when we have 60 degree weather for Halloween!
Halloween was so much fun this year! Dakota made the cutest frog! However, we had a little frog that said "Rawer." Kota filled his entire pumpkin up with goodies! I am so glad Dakota loves to brush his teeth otherwise I think his teeth may just rot out!! LOL!
Our Halloween actually started last weekend with two costume parties! We had so much fun. Our first party was at jennelle and Andy Cook's house and our next was at Rick and Heidi Brouwer's. Bryan and I dressed up as Popeye and Olive Oyl. Yes, my hair was even dyed black! I looked a little weird. I know why I was given the gift of blond hair! LOL! Bryan's costume was so great that he even won the best costume award at the Brouwer party. We are already trying to think of another great costume for next year!
On Thursday Dakota went trunk or treating with Grandma Viening. He went from trunk to trunk at Grandma's work. He had lots of fun! I think his favorite candy was the suckers he got because he started eating them with the wrapper on! We also went to trick or treat at Uncle Jer, Aunt Kim and Corbin's house.
Halloween day was a busy one! We began our trick or treating in the morning with Aunt Kim and Corbin. We went to visit Aunt Ruth, The Reitveld family, and The Driesenga family. In the Afternoon Kota and Mommy went to school/work for a Halloween bash! Kota had lots of fun with his friends playing games, doing crafts, and winning prizes. In the evening we went trick or treating again. We visited the neighboers, Mary and Jason, Carolynn, and Jamie. They all had little treats for Dakota. We then went to visit Great Grandma Nienhuis and Nana and Papa Myaard. Dakota loves his cars he got from Papa and Nana.
It was a fun , but very busy Halloween! We can't til next year.

update

It has been awhile since I last posted a blog. I thought I should update everyone on what is going on in the Breuker Household......Not much!! Actually we have just been busy gearing up for the fall and saying goodbye to summer. It is sad, but I am already excited to put up the Christmas decorations. I told Bryan I would at least wait til November! LOL!
Dakota has been such a hoot lately! He is our entertainment! Kota Bear is talking up a storm!!! He loves saying car, mama, dada, papa, side, eat, ease (please), vroom vroom, and many more words that we just don't quit know what he is saying! Kota loves to play outside. Right now give him a pile of leaves and he is a happy boy! Dakota also had a great time picking out his pumpkin. Now he can't wait to carve it. I will let you know how that goes. We have also been on lots of play dates lately. Dakota loves playing with Mya, Naomi, and Bradon! Mya and Kota love to wrestle.... they think they are big stuff and have sooooo much fun with each other!
We have had a great October so far and are looking forward to Halloween!

Motherhood

Motherhood is such an amazing thing! This weekend I went to a motherhood conference in Grand Rapids. I went with Kim and some moms from Hamilton. We had a great time. As a mom I know that there are times when you need a break. I got that this past weekend! I am now recharged and ready to go! I can now refocus and be the best mom I can be. I had some great classes and wonderful key note speakers! Ken Davis......Hilarious!!! I think the best class I took was about organizing and getting my ducks in a row. I can do that.....Right? I am going to start planning and organizing our lives. This is eventually going to save me time and hopefully money when it comes to meal planning. This concept makes me excited because then I get more time with my baby!

A Great Weekend

The Breuker family had a great weekend! It all began on Friday when Dakota and I went to the Grand Rapids Children's Museum with Aunt Kim and Corbin. The boys had tons of fun. They loved playing in the construction site and with all the emergency vehicle stations. Dakota was a hoot pretending to be a 911 dispatcher. He was typing and talking on the phone at the same time! LOL! It was a great time and can't wait to go back!
On Saturday we watched Corbin ( my other favorite dude! ) Bryan and I took the boys swimming at the Holland Aquatic Center. They were our two little fish! The boys loved the water. They both loved the Splash Zone where they played in the water spouts and sprinklers and had a riot going down the slide. After swimming we all went out for ice cream. It was the perfect end to a great night.
Today Bryan, Dakota, and I went to church. After church we met my mom and dad and went to Crane's U-Pick. It was so much fun. Dakota loved picking ( eating ) the apples. I think he did more eating then picking! LOL! We got lots of apples to make apple crisp and applesauce! I am so glad we went today b/c there was not many apples left to choose from. Dakota also loved checking out all the pumpkins! After we picked apples all of us went to lunch at Spectators. It was great even though Dakota spilled a full glass of coke onto his mother. Not so funny, but it was still a great lunch! Dakota had a great time with his Grandma and Papa too!
What a great weekend we had together as a family! It was a weekend full of memories!

Dakota aka The Bully

What am I going to do with this boy!?! Today I found out from Dakota's teacher that he has been....well should I say not a very nice boy. He has been pushing and wrestling friends! To top it off he took a bite out of one of the babies today. AAAAAH! I really want to nip this behavior in the butt soon! Any suggestions would be very helpful. Tomorrow is a parent meeting lets see if that sheds any light to us. I will keep you posted on this matter!

a relaxing day

Today has been a great day. This morning I spent the morning hanging out with my little man! He is a ball of fun! At noon we picked Corbin (nephew/cousin) up from preschool and he came over to play with Aunt Renee and Dakota. As a special treat Bryan came home for lunch. That was fun and the boys loved it. After lunch we set up a race track and raced all of the cars! What fun boys are. They make me laugh! However, we had some issues of wrestling! One minute it is fun and a great game to be playing and the next minute one boy is screaming and melt downs begin. Boys will be boys! I love them so much! I wish they would never grow up!

Way To Go!

Way to go, Dakota! Dakota went potty today on his little potty. He lifted up his shirt and tried to take off his diaper. I asked him if he had to go potty and went running to the bathroom. He sat on the potty and went pee. His aim was a little off so we had some pee in the potty and some on the floor. Oh, well! We were so proud and happy for him.

What a great Saturday

The Breuker family is having a great day! (even though it has not stopped raining, and it does not look like it is going to stop anytime soon) Bryan worked this morning and does not seemed to bummed that the race has been canceled. He took off to work on the car for next week. Dakota is taking a nap after our busy morning. We got up and checked out Hurricane Ike and his destruction. Does not seem as bad a originally thought. We got ready and we went to get Dakota's haircut! He did so good! He sat in the barber's chair all by himself. He actually sat still. Way to go buddy! He now looks like a little man! After the brand new hair cut we made our way to Sears to get Dakota's 18 month pictures taken. That on the other hand did not go so well! We did get a few good shots and a fun collage. Now we are home and taking a nap! We are going to spend the night with Daddy! What a relaxing, great day!

prayer

Hurricane Ike is on its way in. Thank goodness Michelle and John have evacuated. We are just praying that they stay safe and that their home stays safe and in it's place. I am watching the weather channel and it does not look good. The rain has hit and Ike is moving in. Now all we can do is wait.

Lazy Day

I love having Wednesdays off. It is a great break in the middle of the week! It is also great knowing that I only have a 1/2 day left of work!!!!! Dakota and I have been very lazy today. We stayed in our pjs til 10:00 and finally got around to putting on sweatpants and shirts. We love being comfy! We have just been hanging out together all day. We brought the van to Bryan at work to get fixed. It was fun seeing him during the day. Dakota is now taking a nap and I get to watch my favorite show, One Tree Hill. I can't get enough of it! I love it! I think I will be asking for the series on DVD for Christmas. I was productive in one way today. I got my pictures order. I can't wait to go scrapbooking next weekend! Now I think I am going to take a nap!

What A Weekend!

What a busy weekend! We have been on the go all weekend long. It is finally 5:00 on Sunday and we are trying to relax!
We did have a great time at Bryan's race last night. He rolled over! YIKES! It was an action packed race that kept us wanting more. Even though he didn't win he had a great run! Maybe next time.
Today we had lunch at my parents with the entire family. My brother is leaving for California on Tuesday. It is sad to see him leave, but it was great having him home for a couple of weeks! He will be back at Christmas time.
Dakota fell about 2 feet or so from a lawn chair today and smacked his head on the cement. I am a nervous wreck now! We called the doctor and we have to wake him up every hour and watch for certain signs. My poor baby! I hate it when he gets hurt. It just breaks my heart.
It is a new week and I think a less hectic one. I hope! Bryan does have another race on Saturday at Hudsonville. I think Dakota and I will go because it will probably be are last one to see this year. Dakota loves the races. I think it is about the only time he will actually just sit and watch. He is Daddy's biggest fan!

The Weekend

It is 9:30 on Thursday and my weekend has officially begun!!! Except I need to clean the house before I can do anything fun:( I will get up early (not too early) tomorrow and I will just get it done. I hate cleaning!!! It sucks and is not fun. Having a 17 month old does not help. I clean and he is right behind me messing it up! I have no choice I am having guest over tomorrow night and they do not want to see our mess.
I am throwing a baby shower for one of my good friends, Kristin Keen. She is such a cute mama to be! While I am throwing a shower Bryan and Dakota will be crashing someones house. So watch out they might just end up on your front porch, knocking on the door!!!
I guess I should head to bed! I see a big day of cleaning ahead of me!

Ready for bed

I am soooo tired. Dakota went to bed and that is where I should be heading!!! Tomorrow is a big day at work. I will be working all day. We have parent picnic to kick off our preschool program. However, I do feel good about sticking to my own personal agenda. I crossed some more things off. That is such a great feeling. I am dreading the house cleaning that is soon approaching on the list. Yuck!!!! I will worry about that once I get some sleep!

My First Blog

I think this blogging thing can get addicting! It is going to be like another Facebook addiction for me. Every spare minute I run for the computer! LOL! But seriously I have to thank my friends Jen and Heidi for this idea. It is a great way for others to see what is happening in our family and it is a great way for me to write down my thoughts and journal!
Have you ever had one of those weeks you are just dreading? I have one this week. I just have sooooo much to do and get accomplished. Between work, family, and friends I hope I can get everything done. I have my check list made and if I can just stick to my agenda it will all get done and everyone will be happy. I think that is a great goal!
I did get my groceries tonight so I can check that off the list. Let me tell you it is getting harder and harder to go shopping with a 17 month old son. I always see little girls in the cart and they sit so nicely. Dakota is hanging off the side, crushing all the food, and stressing me out! However, I wouldn't change a thing about him! I love him so much!!
